This is not only a good quote for the week - but also one that is good for every day! I look at all the issues that are on my mind and that are out there for me (and others) to deal with starting out this week on a Monday. No wonder Monday's are not a favorite day of many people. I try and look forward to Mondays as I want to get things accomplished, get things going, etc.
If I keep spending time on thinking about my problems that are in my life and complaining on how unfair they are, I am compounding those problems. I love what Tony Robbins says in this quote about giving our power and energy to finding solutions. If I keep thinking about the problems and worries without trying to get rid of them or solving them; those problems and worries will just get bigger.
There always seems to be problems and issues in our lives. My Monday today has plenty to dwell on for sure. I also need to remind myself about which of those problems and worries can I actually do something about? Those things that I don't have any power over, those that I can't change at all, that are out of my control - those items I really need to let go of. Does that mean they don't
affect me? No way. Many of these worries and problems will affect me - some very deeply. I've done what I could do with them and now some are out of my hands as to how they will turn out, but I will have to deal with the decisions made for sure.
I saw another quote recently - and of course I should have saved it - but it mentioned something about worries robbing us of today, since it occupies our time and doesn't let us live in the moment (which is really all we have). Worrying also robs us of tomorrows since we cannot hope, plan or do things today that will make tomorrow better.
What can you share on this topic that can help yourself and others? I am amazed everyday on the lessons I can learn from my students. I really am greatful for you taking the time to leave some thoughts about these topics each week.
